The West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) recently named United High School as one of the 2025 class of Exemplary Practice Schools because of its great programs that help students do better in school. The school's Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) team put on a successful fall festival for the community and is now planning a "Spring Fling" and "Jingle Surprise" to get students involved. The campus building has also been structurally improved, with a new roof added, to make sure that its specialized alternative programs have a modern learning environment.
