Apple Valley Elementary School is located at 7 N 88th Avenue, Yakima nestled in a suburban–residential setting within the West Valley School District. They serve students from grades K-5 and enrolls approximately 454 students with a student-teacher ratio of 16:1. 67% of students scored at or above the proficient level for math, and 73% scored at or above that level for reading. The student population is made up of 47% female students and 53% male students. Apple Valley provides a vibrant, learner-focused educational setting that prioritizes the academic development, involvement in the community, and is supportive of the “Cougar PRIDE” culture.
In 2023, the school was awarded the highly esteemed National Blue-Ribbon School award for exemplary high performance and student achievement. One of the main things parents talk about is the staff that is full of love and care to the students, the strong feeling of community and the positive culture of acknowledgment and development, which, as a result, makes Apple Valley be ranked among the best elementary schools in Washington.
