Cottonwood Elementary School is located at 16734 S. Cottonwood Creek Blvd, Kennewick in a peaceful suburban neighbourhood served by the Kennewick School District. They serve students from grades K-5 and enrolls approximately 449 students with a student-teacher ratio of 15:1. In math, 73% of students reached the proficient level or higher, while in reading, 78% achieved that level or above. The student population is made up of 54% female students and 46% male students. Cottonwood?????????? Elementary School is a school that promotes a positive and caring environment for learning, which is reflected in the students' excellent academic achievements, their creativity, and their moral development.
The academic programs at Cottonwood Elementary are very strong as the school has maintained its position among the top 10% of elementary schools in the state of Washington with respect to math and reading scores. On October 21, BCFD1 visited Cottonwood Elementary School to showcase their bright red fire engines to the kindergarten students.

Ans. The children do not go unrecognized from the morning greetings to buddy programs. Every child is made to feel seen and valued.

Ans. Parents are the main driving force. They support the school by organizing events, fundraisers, and projects in the classroom.
Q3. How is technology used in a balanced way?
Ans. Technology is used to its fullest potential by the students to bring up new ideas and work together. The sessions that are free of screens help the students to interact with each other personally.
Q4. How does Cottonwood celebrate student growth?
Ans. Monthly assemblies recognize academic effort, kindness, and personal improvement.
Q5. What’s one tradition students look forward to each year?
Ans. The yearly “Spirit Week” is a time when the school becomes alive with games, dressing up in characters, and having fun with lots of ??????????laughter.
