About Silver Lake Elementary School

At Silver Lake Elementary, we welcome kids from kindergarten all the way to 5th grade. It's a really diverse neighborhood we're in, right in the city. The school usually has around 560 to 580 students. We keep our student-teacher ratio at about 18:1, which means every student gets good teaching and individual help. So, this campus first opened its doors back in 1959. Then, in 2009, they gave it a good refresh, so now it mixes all that old tradition with up-to-date spots for learning. Our school is doing great, with academic scores that beat the state average. We have programs like PBIS and Eagle Pride that really help students learn good behavior and stay involved.

The school's student body is really mixed, with around three-quarters of the kids being from minority groups. They even kick off a Spanish-English immersion program right from kindergarten. You'll find homes in the neighborhoods around here usually go for about $450,000 to $750,000, which is great because it means lots of families can stay really connected to the school community. Silver Lake Elementary really focuses on making things fair for everyone, helping kids do well in school, and making sure everyone feels like they belong. It's a great, steady place that helps students get off to a good start. This school is the best school in Washington.
