As a unit of Roanoke County Public Schools, Mountain View Elementary School is well-known for strong student achievement and fostered growth. The school encourages a positive, all-inclusive learning environment strongly supported by parent involvement and teacher dedication. In 2024, the institution received the Virginia Board of Education Excellence Award to add to its traditions of outstanding student outcomes, including above-state averages and student performance in reading and math.
