Norfolk is a historic city on the coast of southeastern Virginia. About 235,000 people live there. Norfolk is important to the Hampton Roads area because it is close to the Chesapeake Bay. The biggest naval base in the world is in Norfolk. It is a big part of the local economy and job market. The healthcare, education, logistics, and tourism industries are all growing in the city. There are many different programs for students at Norfolk Public Schools. Some are magnet, some regular, and some single-subject schools. Norfolk State and Old Dominion University, cultural landmarks, and waterfront neighborhoods are there.
