Agnor-Hurt Elementary School is the best elementary school. It has 474 students in grades PK to 5 and a student–teacher ratio of about 13:1. There are 36 full-time teachers and 2 full-time school counselors. Top School in VirginiaThe school says that about 57% of its students are good at math and 52% are good at reading, which is close to the average for Albemarle County. There are 51% female students and 49% male students in the school. 73% of the students at the school come from low-income families. Agnor-Hurt performs well when compared to Baker-Butler Elementary (47% math, 55% reading) and Hollymead Elementary (46% math, 54% reading). Most students go on to Lakeside Middle School and Albemarle High School.
