Mill Run Elementary School is located in the lively suburb area of Ashburn which provides a safe and attractive learning environment for students. They serve students from grades PK-5 and enrolls approximately 648 students with a student-teacher ratio of 13:1. 94% of students are proficient in math and 86% meet or exceed grade-level reading benchmarks. The student population is made up of 46% female students and 54% male students. Mill Run is known for its innovative instructional methods and emphasis on students' character development which offers students holistic growth.
One of the things the school elevates as its triumph is being ranked as one of the top 5% elementary schools in Virginia. This, in turn, can be pointed out as a very positive indicator of the school’s concern for student development as well as the use of new teacher’s methodologies. As a result of such an environment, the school is rated as one of the best elementary schools in Virginia. Parents see Mill Run as a loving, welcoming and neighbourhood-oriented school that makes a safe place for every child to develop.
