The Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts has officially added new digital media suites to its building to help with modern music production and the arts of film. Recently, professional artists from local theater and dance companies led a series of masterclasses for students. This gave them a direct look at the industry. The school is also expanding its "Artist in Residence" program, which brings local performers into the classroom to help students write and put on their own plays.
