The Utah State Board of Education officially named Sego Lily Elementary a Purple Star School because it does such a great job of helping military-connected students, including trained BEAK Ambassadors who help students adjust.

Students have also been taking part in a "Kindness Challenge" in which they earn tokens for doing kind things and can trade them in for treats and prizes. This has made the school's culture of compassion and community even stronger.
