San Juan, a city located in the Rio Grande Valley and home to about 36,000 people, boasts a tight-knit community that is rooted in the Hispanic culture. Elementary schools are managed by the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District, which is composed of many elementary schools, some even having earned the honor of being a National Blue Ribbon School because of their excellent academic standards.
