Midlothian's elementary schools serve a rapidly growing community of about 40,000 people in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The area is known for its suburban growth, strong community values, and family-friendly lifestyle. Most students in the Midlothian Independent School District (MISD) go to public schools. The district has several highly rated elementary schools and a few private schools. Schools focus on tough academics, early reading and math skills, STEM programs, and the arts, all of which are supported by a wide range of extracurricular activities.
