Expansion to K-8: As of the current 2025–2026 school year, Pope has officially transitioned from an elementary school to a pre-K through 8th-grade school. This expansion was designed to alleviate overcrowding in North Jackson middle schools.

Facilities: The new $48 million, 143,000-square-foot campus features dedicated spaces for the arts, advanced STEM labs, and a FEMA-approved safe room.

FAQ

1. How can I find the best middle school near my neighborhood in Tennessee?

A. You can find the best middle schools here.

Q2. What are the key safety and design features of the new campus?

Ans. The new building includes a FEMA-rated safe room that can shelter the entire school during severe weather. The layout places lower grades near that safe zone, and the structure is engineered to resist an EF5 tornado.

Q3. Who leads the school, and what is its leadership vision?

Ans. The current principal is Tracey Vowell, under whom the school is navigating the transition to the new campus and expanded grade model, while maintaining mission focus on fluency, higher-order thinking, and a safe, caring culture.

Q4. How active is community and business involvement at Pope School?

Ans. Pope’s “PIE Partners” (Partners in Education) include Walmart, Kroger, and Owens Corning, which support various programs. The PTO is robust, and alumni and local businesses frequently engage in volunteering, sponsorship, and event support.

Q5. How can I find the best high school near my neighborhood in Tennessee?
