Being Updated
The new "Green Thumbs" gardening program at Dakota Prairie Elementary in Brookings, South Dakota, is a big hit with both students and staff. Students will plant, care for, and pick a variety of flowers and vegetables in the school's new garden as part of this hands-on project. This program teaches important lessons in biology and environmental science, but it also helps kids learn how to work together, be responsible, and feel more connected to nature. Students are looking forward to their next planting cycle and are excited to see how their hard work pays off.
