The South Dakota School for the Blind and Visually Impaired is always making its specialized curriculum better by adding assistive technology and teaching students how to read and write in braille so they can be as independent as possible. Adding more digital learning tools, such as one-on-one laptops and technology that is easy on the senses, is one of the most recent things that have been done to meet the needs of all kinds of students. The school's modern campus in Aberdeen, which opened in 2020, has a uniquely designed sensory garden and pod-style apartments that make it a safe and efficient place for students to grow.
