Latest News

SDSBVI Elementary in Aberdeen, South Dakota, is celebrating a recent success in its goal of making the school a friendly, hands-on place to learn. The school just finished its first "Sensory Exploration Week," when students could do things that would make all five of their senses work. Students could play with different sounds, textures, and sights at this event. This helped them connect better with what they were learning and the world around them.

The school just opened a new "Creative Expression Room" in addition to the sensory-focused activities. This room is a safe place for students to learn about music, dance, and the arts. The room has tools and materials that can be used in different ways to help people learn in different ways. This encourages creativity and self-expression.
