Being Updated
The old McCracken Middle School site was torn down in March 2025 to make room for a new campus for Jesse Boyd Elementary School. This was part of Spartanburg County School District 7's larger plan to improve its facilities. The new building is set to open in August 2027, which is a big investment in the school's future learning environment. The school celebrated its 60th anniversary when the project was announced in early February 2025. At the same time, they looked forward to moving into a new building. Local funding and feedback from the community have been very important in moving the plan forward.
The school's move to a new campus is a big deal for everyone in the school community, both current families and alumni. It is a celebration of the past and a promise to build better schools in the future. As demolition moves forward and construction begins, everyone involved is keeping an eye on how the new campus will improve the student experience, resources, and daily operations.
