Latest News

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — October 2025, Fairforest Elementary School was recently the focus of a local health scare after a few confirmed cases of measles were reported in the Upstate. Officials from the state and the district said that once the cases were found, the school acted quickly to keep students and staff safe. As a safety measure, more than 100 students were told to stay home for a short time while teachers made online lessons to keep classes going. The district worked closely with the Department of Public Health to find out where people might have been exposed and to keep families up to date on safety rules. Parents said the response was calm and well-organized, and they said that the school kept them informed and reassured. One parent said, "They kept us up to date every step of the way."

There was a brief disruption, but it showed how well Fairforest Elementary works together and cares about the health of its students and the trust of the community.
