Being Updated
The latest news of Spartanburg's E.P. Todd Elementary School made the news when a staff member and a young student got into trouble. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office says that a teacher's aide was accused of being rough with a preschooler who had special needs. Several staff members saw what happened, and school leaders called the police right away. Later, the employee was charged and fired. Officials from District Seven said they took the issue very seriously and put plans in place to look at safety practices in all schools. They also talked to parents to reassure them that keeping students safe is still their top priority. The event made a lot of people in the community think about how safe classrooms are and how to train people who work with young children. The event was scary, but parents and teachers are hopeful that what they learned will make E.P. Todd Elementary a better place to be in the future.
