Being Updated
Recently, Cannons Elementary students and staff did something special to honor an 80-year-old school custodian on his birthday. The custodian has been a big part of the school community since he started working there in 1987, more than thirty years ago. On the special day, teachers and kids dressed up in silly shirts and marched together in a "birthday parade" to honor him. They stood in the hallways to show their respect for his work. Students called him a "legend" because he was always happy and worked hard at the facility. They said that he works hard every day. School staff members say that he is "the first one in the building" even though he is 80 years old. He helps make the school a friendly place. This party was not only to celebrate his success, but it also showed how much the school values long-term employees, respect, and community. This event shows that the school cares about the students and the people who work there.
