Irmo Middle School was part of a district-wide initiative that received a Stronger Connections Grant from the South Carolina Department of Education. This funding supports the creation of “The Hive,” an after-school program focused on academic enrichment, social-emotional wellness, and safe spaces for students. The program aims to expand access to free after-school activities and family engagement opportunities, improving the school experience for students and families.
Q1. Does Irmo Middle have arts programs?
Answer. Yes, students can join the band, choir, theater, and visual arts programs.
Q2. What kinds of sports can you do?
Ans. Basketball, soccer, track, and volleyball are all examples of intramural and competitive sports.
Q3. Does the school have computers and other technology?
Ans. There are computers, tablets, and other interactive learning tools in the classrooms.
Q4: Are there programs for after school?
Ans. Yes, there are activities for fun, STEM clubs, arts workshops, and academic enrichment.
Q5. How do students get credit for their accomplishments?
During school assemblies, students get awards, certificates, and praise.
