Being Updated
Laura VanHorn, a second-grade teacher at Bluffton Elementary School, was named the Beaufort County School District's Teacher for last year's session. This made the news recently. VanHorn has been a teacher for almost 40 years and is known for her dedication to helping students learn and her creative ideas for the classroom. One of her most important contributions is a student garden project that teaches biology, environmental science, and responsibility in a real-world setting to help students learn science better.
The principal of the school praised him for all her hard work to make the classroom a appropriate place to learn. She said that her method motivates students and makes it easier for them to work together. This award also shows that the school as a whole values and supports teachers who are good at what they do.
