Henry Zarrow International School is a public school in Tulsa, Oklahoma, which is a big city. The school has 478 students in grades PK–5, with a student–teacher ratio of 19:1, which is a little higher than the district average. There are 25 full-time teachers and 1 full-time school counselor on the staff. The school has a bilingual immersion program and stresses multilingual literacy, which helps students become fluent in both Spanish and English. The student body is diverse, with 51% female and 49% male students. 53% of them are identified as economically disadvantaged. Fifty-two percent of students did well enough in math to be considered proficient, and thirty-seven percent did well enough in reading to be considered proficient. These scores are higher than both the district average (10% of students tested proficient in math and 11% in reading) and the state average (26% in math and 25% in reading). Henry Zarrow International School is the 75th best elementary school in Oklahoma. This is because it does a good job of preparing students for middle school and doing well in school. Its strengths are a strong dual-language curriculum, a diverse student body, and academic results that are better than average.

Being Updated
According to the latest reports and news, Henry Zarrow International School has been garnering attention, thanks to its impressive academic achievements and dedication to the community. A recent reports says the school's standing in the top 20% of all public schools in Oklahoma, with particularly noteworthy results in math (top 5%) and reading. This is quite an accomplishment, especially considering it's a diverse, bilingual elementary school catering to preschool through 5th grade. Beyond its academic success, Zarrow has been actively supporting its immersion curriculum. It's one of just two immersion schools in the district, where students are immersed in both English and Spanish, fostering genuine bilingualism from an early age.
In terms of community and infrastructure, Zarrow recently marked the debut of a new outdoor classroom. This space features pollinator and sensory gardens, a sundial, and a STEM area designed for outdoor learning. The result is a boost to student involvement, along with a greater appreciation for the environment and the opportunity for hands-on learning in the open air. Moreover, the Henry Zarrow International School Foundation remains essential in maintaining Zarrow's educational standards. The foundation raises funds to keep native-speaking assistant teachers in every classroom, provides scholarships for study-abroad exchange programs (such as those in Spain and Costa Rica), and supports advanced curriculum and cultural learning opportunities.
