Latest News

Lindsey Meeker, the physical education teacher at Felicitas Mendez International School, was named Teacher of the Year for 2023–2024 because of her dedication and the difference she made. She has been on the school's staff since 2013 and said that working at Mendez is like being part of a family, where everyone—staff, students, and parents—works together in a caring and supportive environment. Meeker said that the school's dual-language model, which promotes social, emotional, and academic growth in both English and Spanish, is at the heart of its spirit of inclusion and cooperation. The school also recently celebrated Native American Heritage Month by having students make traditional fry bread as part of a hands-on cultural learning experience. Cherokee Nation family members narrated the stories and showed artifacts as part of activity. This shows how much Mendez cares about the students future and cultural diversity and getting people involved in their communities.
