Being Updated
Recently, there was a big change at Ellen Ochoa Elementary School. Union Public Schools has made a big announcement that will help the community: the Community Health Connection will start building a new maternal and child health center next to the Ellen Ochoa health clinic on the campus of Ellen Ochoa Elementary School. The district is giving the land for this facility, which is expected to provide specialized care for pregnant women and children. This will make it easier for families in east Tulsa to get medical care. The center will be 22,000 square feet and is expected to serve an extra 3,000 families. It should be finished by spring 2027. This expand shows that Ellen Ochoa Elementary is more than just a school; it's also a community center which helps the students to grow also. This strengthens its status as a "Community School Village." The Union's plan to combine education and health care, especially in areas that don't have enough medical care, fits with the increased healthcare capacity. This change could make the school's long-term promise to help students stay healthy and families stay together stronger.
