Being Updated
On October 23, 2025, Dolores Huerta Elementary School will host a Special Education Transition Fair to help students and their families get ready for important changes, like moving up a grade or getting ready for life after school. The school says that the event will include help with applications for state developmental disability services, meetings with vocational-program representatives, and talks about benefits planning, guardianship, and living on your own. The Tulsa Public Schools Board has also approved its academic calendars for 2025–2026 and 2026–2027. These calendars include 168 days of instruction, professional development days for staff, and a full week off in the fall. A bond-project update shows that the renovation of a bathroom at Dolores Huerta Elementary (as part of a larger district-wide bond project) will cost no more than US$401,000. This shows that the school is still investing in improving its infrastructure. These changes show that the school is committed to both improving its facilities and helping students with special needs, which shows that the community is willing to put money into these efforts.
