Latest News

The school has recently welcomed the expansion of a well-known program that helps kids learn to read and write. The program now serves the school as well as a few others in the district. This program matches students with volunteer tutors for one-on-one reading sessions. School leaders say that reading skills have gotten better in every grade level since the program started. The principal said that personalized help is helping students who were behind to catch up. Darnaby is adding this to help students read better and feel more sure of themselves, which is in line with its main goal of building stronger academic foundations. This is a big deal for families, teachers, and people in the community who are keeping an eye on the school's progress. Darnaby Elementary School is now part of a bigger effort to help kids in elementary school read better. The program pairs students with volunteer tutors for one-on-one reading sessions. This lets each child get the one-on-one help they need to get better at reading. Since the policy was put in place, the school's leaders have seen clear improvements in reading skills at all grade levels. Students are more confident and engaged in class.
