Being Updated
The most recent news says, Council Oak Elementary School has been in the news lately because of how involved it is in the community and how it works to be more environmentally friendly. On April 22, 2025, the school held a lively Earth Day celebration where students, parents, and teachers all learned about the environment for a whole morning. The event focused on the ideas of reduce, reuse, and recycle. Local partners set up interactive booths where kids could learn about composting, wildlife, and gardening. As part of the lebrations, the school tried a "trash-free lunch.". In March 2025, the school sent families important news: the Tulsa Public Schools board approved calendars for the 2025–2026 and 2026–2027 school years. The district also added extra days to the school year to make up for bad weather, so the last day of school was moved to May 22. In addition, the school has made support services stronger. In a newsletter sent out in February, leaders reminded families of the district's mental health resources and how to sign up for the next school year.
