Being Updated
Jackson Elementary School in Norman start the 2025–26 school year on a positive note: Deion Burks, a wide receiver for the Oklahoma Sooners. Burks also gave each classroom a signed photo, and through a random drawing, he chose two students from each class to get signed footballs. This was possible because DM Injury Law sponsored the event. But that wasn't all; he also made a big donation: 500 fully stocked backpacks were given to Norman Public Schools. A lot of these will help students at Jackson Elementary by giving them school supplies they need and boosting their spirits for the new school year. Gina Bolding, the principal of Jackson, said that the visit made students feel seen, supported, and inspired, and that it had a "lasting impression." This event was more than just a pep rally for a school that doesn't do well in school. Recent data shows that it is in the bottom 50% of Oklahoma schools for test scores. It gave real emotional support and showed that the community really cares about its youngest students.
