Creekwood Elementary School’s 5th-grade “Eco-Warrior” team earned a $10,000 national Green Futures Fund grant for their community recycling initiative, “Project Renew.” By hosting monthly drop-off events, partnering with the City of Broken Arrow, and keeping over 2,000 pounds of waste out of landfills, the students are creating lasting environmental change and will soon build a permanent, student-run recycling station on campus.
