East Franklin Elementary School is celebrating being named among the schools with the highest student attendance this term in the South-Western City School District. The school has launched a series of workshops called “Parent University” that brings families practical strategies to support their children’s growth in literacy and social-emotional skills. Also, the campus recently celebrated its new “Wellness Center” which is designed to create a supportive and inclusive school culture for all students.
Q1. What assistance does East Franklin Elementary offer students transferring in from other districts during the school year?
Ans. Yes, it does. Our “Falcon Friends” program pairs new students with a peer mentor to help them learn the unique routines of our campus.
Q2. Does East Franklin Elementary School have a designated quiet space for students who need a break from sensory input?
Ans. Our library has sensory-friendly reading nooks where students can have a quiet break or engage in focused tactile learning.
Q3. What motor skill development activities are part of the physical education curriculum at East Franklin Elementary School?
Ans. Our large play areas allow students to build their motor skills and coordination during daily movement sessions or recess.
Q4. How does East Franklin Elementary School communicate with families whose home language is not English?
Ans. All newsletters and important safety alerts are available in multiple languages so that every parent is kept up to date on a daily basis.
Q5. Are parents available to volunteer for the East Franklin Elementary School garden project or campus beautification days during the week?
Ans. Yes, families are welcome to come to our green team events and help us maintain our outdoor learning spaces and gardens.
