Being Updated
School 30 recently unveiled a new mural designed by students that conveys the message of unity and academic perseverance to the school. There is a lot of growth on campus with the student-led literacy clubs and a recent emphasis on expanding the diverse book collection in the school library. The school also hosted a successful event called “Community Unity” that brought together students, families and staff for a day of service.
Q1. How does School 30’s “Moving Up” program prepare fifth graders for their transition to middle school?
Ans. According to the article, with middle school visits and time management workshops, students gain confidence about what comes next in school.
Q2. Does School 30 have special clubs for students who want to go into law or government?
Ans. Our “Junior Civics” club allows students to experience local government and develop their public speaking skills in simulated neighborhood community council meetings.
Q3. What types of digital safety workshops are provided to students with school issued devices at School 30?
Ans. We offer “Cyber-Shield” workshops to teach students about online privacy, respectful communication on the internet, and how to avoid internet scams.
Q4. How does School 30 recognize its character traits in students each month at school such as “Integrity” and “Courage”?
Ans. We recognize one “Scholar of Character” each month at our school-wide leadership assembly to honor students’ positive social choices each day.
Q5. Can parents go to School 30 “Parent University” to learn how to support academic growth?
Ans. We run monthly workshops to help parents with supporting homework and developing a growth mindset at home.
