School 29 has just released its most recent academic accomplishments in its spring newsletter, which featured several student successes in creative writing and problem-solving. The school is also part of a district-wide “Green Team” program, giving students unique opportunities to lead campus recycling and environmental conservation projects. The campus is also continuing to build an exciting learning environment that has recently been recognized for excellence in music education.

Q1. In what ways does School 29’s “Health and Wellness” initiative encourage physical activity among the students?

Ans. Every day, we have fun runs and seasonal “Fitness Grams” to help students stay on track with their personal health goals and stay active.

Q2. Will School 29 provide any additional academic support for students who are currently below grade level?

Ans. Ans. We provide “Saturday Success” sessions and after-school tutoring blocks to provide additional support in math and reading proficiency weekly.

Q3. What kind of student-led environmental projects (such as a school garden) are currently in place at School 29?

Ans. The “Green Tigers” club is a group of students who maintain our campus vegetable garden and gain hands-on experience with local ecology and sustainability.

Q4. How does School 29 implement its positive behavior systems on a daily basis to create a safe and orderly campus?

Ans. We have a school-wide “Reward Points” program where students can earn prizes for showing respect, responsibility and empathy for others.

Q5. Are there specific areas for students at School 29 where they can sit and think quietly or practice mindfulness activities?

Ans. In each classroom there is a “Calm Corner” where students can go for a few minutes of quiet breathing and reflection if any of the students needs it.
