School 17 recently held its annual “Multicultural Celebration” with food, music and traditions from the many cultures represented in the student body. The campus is celebrating being a “Rapidly Improving School” and playing a role in the District’s overall academic growth goals for the 2025-2026 term. Recently, students participated in a campus-wide “Kindness Challenge” and performed hundreds of service acts for their peers and teachers.

Ans. Our teachers use data-driven “Success Blocks” to provide immediate support or advanced challenges based on each child’s academic performance on a daily basis.

Q2. Does School 17 offer any special family workshops on how to support student mental health and social growth?

Ans. Our counselor facilitates “Coffee and Connection” sessions to teach parents how to develop resilience and positive communication at home every day.

Q3. Are there leadership opportunities for students at the School 17 campus, such as being on a “Kindness Crew”?

Ans. Students can apply to be on the “Kindness Crew” to facilitate service projects around the campus and to assist with peer conflict on the playground.

Q4. How does School 17 integrate the different cultures of the JOSANA neighborhood in its school-wide events?

Ans. Each year we hold a “Neighborhood Heritage Fair” with music and food representing the many cultures of our student body.

Ans. Our “Studio 17” program offers students extra hours each school semester to learn about painting, digital photography and introductory graphic design.
