School 16 recently recognized its latest “Teacher of the Year” award recipient for her outstanding commitment and teaching expertise in the elementary grades. The campus is being recognized for its “High-Quality Instruction” efforts that have led to measurable student growth in early reading over the past year. The school has also introduced new digital communication tools to instantly keep parents updated on their child’s daily wins and milestones.
Q1. How does School 16 ensure that students are safe and secure when they enter the historic school building each day?
Ans. "Yeah. We have a secure electronic check-in system, monitored by staff, with clear entry protocols for all parents and visitors each morning.
Q2. Does School 16 have any special literacy support for their early years students that are “Emergent Bilinguals”?
Ans. Our campus has a "Language Lab" that daily provides focused, small-group support for students working to build academic vocabulary and reading fluency.
Q3. What types of hands-on STEM engineering challenges are students at School 16 working on this year?
Ans. Students work in teams, using complex scientific theories to construct functioning bridges and solar-powered cars for exciting classroom projects.
Q4. How does School 16 celebrate academic achievement and growth for students at the conclusion of each marking period?
Ans. We have “Star Student” assemblies when families are invited to watch their children receive awards for effort and academic excellence.
Q5. Can School 16 parents volunteer for the “Library Friends” group to help run book fairs on campus?
Ans. Yes, we highly encourage parents to participate in our library committee to help us plan for seasonal reading events and book giveaways.
