Being Updated
In Fall 2025, Post Road School partnered with a local yoga studio to host a fundraiser flow-class for the fifth-grade cohort. The event fostered parent-student engagement, reinforced mindfulness-and-movement themes, and celebrated the school’s dual-language program in a larger community wellness context.
1. What special programs does Post Road offer?
A. The school features a dual-language (English/Spanish) magnet track and participates in the Project Lead-The-Way initiative, offering hands-on STEM exploration starting in early grades.
2. How does the school support students who are behind grade level?
A. Post Road uses frequent benchmark assessments and schedules small-group “power hour” interventions during the school day. Families should ask about frequency of progress monitoring and how students are moved into additional support.
3. What is the demographic and language profile?
A. With over 60% of students identifying as Hispanic and a large share of multilingual learners, the school offers bilingual family-engagement nights and translation support.
4. How involved can parents be in the school community?
A. Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) events, volunteering in classroom projects and regular bilingual communication are key features. Because of the dual-language model, parent involvement in both languages is encouraged.
5. What should families know about housing and moving into the attendance zone?
A. With three-bedroom rentals in White Plains ranging ~$2,500–4,000/month, families should review commute, unit condition, and budget for any potential tutoring or enrichment, especially if hoping to raise proficiency outcomes.
