In September 2025, General Herkimer Elementary School gave the Student of the Month award to a kid who really improved, both in class and as a person. Good for them! Mrs. Johnston’s 4th-grade class did so well that they’re heading to the “First in Math” New York State Tournament in Albany. How great is that? The kids also got to meet the author Jacqueline Woodson and had fun with activities about books. The school also called out the 6th graders at Graduation in 2025. Then there were Field Days, where everyone got some exercise and teamed up. And who could forget Family Fun Night 2024, when the school got together with the community?
