School 52-Frank Fowler Dow has kicked off its "Digital Citizenship" program to help students learn to use technology responsibly and creatively. The school recently hosted a successful “Intermediate Olympics” which encouraged physical health and friendly competition among the upper grades. Campus students are also being honored for their work on a “Local Heroes” research project investigating Rochester’s impact.
Q1. What type of tough puzzles do the students in the School 52-Frank Fowler Dow "Math Innovators" club tackle?
Ans. Numerical thinking is developed through the work of complex logic problems and the representation of the school in regional academic games.
Q2. Does School 52-Frank Fowler Dow have a campus greenhouse where students can do biological studies?
Ans. Yes, students do study plant life cycles in their science units and use our greenhouse for practical botany lessons.
Q3. How does School 52-Frank Fowler Dow use digital photography in the daily fine arts rotations?
Ans. Students document campus life and create their own unique original visual storytelling projects using professional cameras and editing software.
Q4. What does “Civic Duty” leadership look like in fifth grade at School 52-Frank Fowler Dow?
Ans. Students are voted on by their peers to be on the “Citizens Council” and help organize school-wide events and rules.
Q5. How does School 52-Frank Fowler Dow prepare students for the academic demands of secondary level educational programs?
Ans. Our curriculum is inquiry based and students learn to do high level research and present their research findings in a clear manner to a professional audience.
