Being Updated
School 2-Clara Barton has been named a “Kindness Certified School” after students logged thousands of hours of service during the 2026 Great Kindness Challenge. The school recently opened a new community garden on campus, where students are getting hands-on experience in urban agriculture and sustainable sources of food. Additionally, the school’s student leadership council recently held a very successful food drive for local Rochester shelters.
Q1. How is School 2-Clara Barton still innovative in the nursing profession?
Ans. Students participate in “Heritage Days” and learn about Clara Barton’s legacy through science projects and community service activities.
Q2. Is there urban farming at School 2-Clara Barton? Garden community?
Ans. Yes, our students grow and harvest vegetables in season, connecting their lessons in science to sustainable food sources and biology in their own backyards.
Q3. What do students earn during spirit weeks for their “Kindness Rewards” at School 2-Clara Barton?
Ans. “Kindness Slips” are the good deeds acknowledged at our monthly campus-wide leadership and character assemblies.
Q4. How does School 2-Clara Barton incorporate visual arts into the classrooms of students they visit every day as part of the core subject curriculum?
Ans. Students create murals and digital art projects that depict complicated scientific theories and historical events learned in class.
Q5. Does School 2-Clara Barton provide parent workshops to support students’ social emotional health at home?
