Being Updated
Neil Armstrong School is honoring its newest "Astronaut Scholars," students who have shown great dedication to their schoolwork and daily goals. Students learned about the physics of flight by building and launching paper rockets at a recent "STEM Space Mission" event at the school. The campus has also been praised for being "Safe and Supportive," which was named as one of the best things about it in a recent family survey of the whole district.
Q1. What does the "Astronaut Scholar" program at Neil Armstrong School do to keep students interested every day?
Ans. Students can earn virtual "Stars" for being kind and working hard in school. They can then use these stars to unlock fun reward events on campus.
Q2. Does Neil Armstrong School have a STEM lab where students can work on engineering projects?
Ans. Yes, our lab has building kits and digital tools that students use to work together to solve "Mission Challenges" every week.
Q3. What is the "Buddy Reading" program like for younger kids at Neil Armstrong School?
Ans, Fifth graders go to primary classrooms once a week to read to their "buddies" and help them feel more confident about reading.
Q4. How does Neil Armstrong School include veterans from the area in its history classes?
Ans. Every year, we have a Veterans Day breakfast where local heroes tell their stories and teach students about their civic duty.
Q5. Can parents be a part of the Neil Armstrong School "Watch D.O.G.S." program to get involved on campus?
Ans. We invite fathers and other male role models to spend a day volunteering on campus to help out and be a mentor.
Note: Schedules may change during school holidays. Please contact School for exact Schedule.
