Being Updated
The "Tiger Leadership" program at Durand-Eastman Intermediate School lets students take charge of recycling and school spirit events on campus. The school is celebrating the program's success. Recently, the school held a "Math Challenge" night with a lot of energy, where families competed in logic puzzles and building things with shapes. Also, this semester, a lot more students are joining the campus's extracurricular fine arts and drama clubs.
Q1. What do students in the "Tiger Leadership" program at Durand-Eastman Intermediate School do to help the environment?
Ans. These student leaders run recycling drives on campus and teach their classmates why it's important to protect the Rochester ecosystem.
Q2. What kinds of geometric building tasks are part of the Durand-Eastman Intermediate School Math Challenge Night?
Ans. Families work together to build strong structures out of old materials. This tests their knowledge of shapes and designs that can hold weight.
Q3. Are there any after-school clubs at Durand-Eastman Intermediate School for kids who like drama?
Ans. Our "Tiger Troupers" club puts on a spring show that lets students try out acting, stagecraft, and costume design.
Q4. How does Durand-Eastman Intermediate School help students who are going from elementary to middle school?
Ans. We use a "Level-Up" orientation to help new third graders understand how our school expects them to be more independent and do better in school.
Q5. Are there any special areas on the Durand-Eastman Intermediate School campus where students can work on art projects?
Ans. Students can work together on murals and other creative projects in our "Studio Corner." These projects decorate the hallways of our campus all year long.
