PS 98 Shorac Kappock located in the Inwood neighborhood of Manhattan has continued to attract interest due to the growth of its STEAM-based learning program and enrichment classes offered to early grade students. In recent school updates, it has been noted that there is an increase in project-based learning in science and technology lessons such as the use of hydroponic laboratory lessons and classroom work made possible through magnet funding approved by DOE. There has also been an expansion in dual-language classes as well as after-school classes with increased attendance in art and tutoring lessons.
Q1. What is the process for admission to PS 98 Shorac Kappock?
Ans. Admission is mainly through NYC Public School Zoning with additional magnet placement via district assignment.
Q2. What forms of transport can be availed?
Ans. Children have access to NYC DOE school buses or public transport based on requirements.
Q3. Are meals provided in the institution?
Ans. The institution provides free meals including breakfast and lunch as part of the school nutrition program of the city.
Q4. What student assistance services does the school offer?
Ans. Services include special education, speech therapy, and academic interventions according to the student’s needs.
Q5. Do they provide after-school programs?
Ans. Yes, they do provide after-school programs.
