The PS 96 Joseph Lanzetta School in East Harlem is one that has received some recent attention based on its efforts to continue working on its parent communication initiatives and additional student support programs for the year 2025-2026. School administration has noted improvements in their ability to monitor attendance as well as new initiatives involving literacy interventions among the younger grades. The parents themselves have seen more enrichment programs in place to help encourage growth and development among their students.
Q1. What unique services are offered by PS 96 Joseph Lanzetta?
Ans. Enrichment services like arts integration, physical education, and academic tutoring after school hours are offered.
Q2. Is there any help offered for students whose first language is not English?
Ans. Bilingual and ESL assistance is offered by the school to help such students improve their English skills while simultaneously taking other classes.
Q3. Can children join any activities outside of class time?
Ans. Children have the opportunity to enroll in clubs and sports programs to enhance their skills of cooperation, leadership, and creativity.
Q4. How safe is the school for students?
Ans. The school follows all safety procedures set by the NYC DOE guidelines, including restricted access, constant monitoring, and emergency training sessions.
Q5. How does the school interact with its parents?
Ans. Family engagement programs are held regularly at PS 96 to allow parents to be aware of their child’s academic performance.
