The latest news from P.S. 198 Isador E. Ida Straus indicate a vibrant community at the school that participates in various seasonally themed enrichment programs and community-building events. For instance, the school has recently advertised its spring programs for the year 2026 to provide students with more learning experiences in art and academics, in addition to exercise programs outside the classroom. There has also been extensive parental involvement in some of the school events, such as those involving cultural representation and fundraising programs.
Q1. Are there any after school programs offered in your school?
Ans. Depending on annual relationships made, such programs are offered.
Q2. Is the gifted or academic program provided in the school?
Ans. Such services might be available under NYC DOE criteria.
Q3. How about the transportation issue? Do you have it covered?
Ans. Students will be provided transportation in form of a yellow bus/Metrocard as per NYC DOE policy.
Q4. Is it possible for students to get their meals at the school?
Ans. Indeed, all students have free breakfast/lunch service according to NYC public school policy.
Q5. Are the parents involved in the work carried out in your school?
Ans. In the form of PTA meetings, school events and regular teacher contacts.
