P.S. 183 Robert L. Stevenson has recently garnered some positive press for its excellent academic performance and the high level of involvement that its students demonstrate in community-oriented learning programs. During the 2025–2026 year, the school was involved in several arts collaboration efforts, such as the painting of a community-focused mural by the students of P.S. 183. The school is known for holding school-wide events and having PTA meetings to which families turn out in large numbers, making the parents a highly involved group at the school.
Q1. Is P.S. 183 Robert L. Stevenson admission selective or zoned?
Ans. Admission is mainly zoned, which means preference is offered to those who reside within the specified zone according to NYC Department of Education placement procedures.
Q2. Is there an after-school program at the school?
Ans. Yes, the school provides after-school programs that may comprise academic help, supervision, and play activities depending on the grade level.
Q3. Do arts and/or music programs exist?
Ans. There are no extra arts or music classes apart from the standard elementary program.
Q4. What kinds of student support services does the school provide?
Ans. Services are provided for general education students. It also caters to those with Individualized Education Plans as well as classroom-level learning support services.
Q5. What are the school hours? What transportation options are available?
Ans. The school operates on the same schedule as any other NYC elementary school. There is bus transportation service based on distance criteria and city regulations.
