PS 129 John H. Finley is a school that has been working on improving its literacy and mathematics teaching practices through various classroom approaches. Various stakeholders within PS 129 have indicated efforts towards increasing student engagement through artistic activities as well as other extra-curricular activities, some sponsored by NYC Department of Education. Additionally, the recent news has shown improvement in their initiatives towards student attendance as well as family involvement activities, which aim at fostering partnerships between schools and parents.
Q1. How is admission done to PS 129 John H Finley?
Ans. Admission is arranged by the New York City Department of Education and generally depends on district zones and seats availability.
Q2. Do you have any enrichment activities at your school?
Ans. Yes, students can take advantage of arts integration activities, literacy activities, and some basic classes with an emphasis on STEM areas.
Q3. What facilities exist to cater to learners having learning difficulties?
Ans. We provide special education services as per NYC DOE policy.
Q4. What kind of extracurricular activities do you conduct at school?
Ans. Students have the chance to be part of after-school clubs and activities conducted within the school premises.
Q5. Can my child get transportation and lunch at school?
Ans. If eligible, your child may benefit from school transportation services provided by the NYC department of education and also from free/reduced lunch programs.
