The recent PS 178 news from Professor Juan Bosch Public School in Manhattan shows that there is an ongoing effort to improve early literacy and STEM skills via technology integration in classrooms and small group instructions. In addition, the school has engaged with parents through revised tours and outreach activities, which are expected to result in better participation by the parents in their children’s education. The staff will concentrate on fluency development and attendance engagement during this academic year.
Q1. What is the process for accepting students into the program?
Ans. The admission procedure is mostly based on NYC Public School Zoning, whereby preference will be given to those residing within the defined zone.
Q2. Do you have any after-school programs?
Ans. Yes, there are various after-school programs provided at our institution which include academic, artistic, and recreational activities among others.
Q3. Transportation services offered by the school?
Ans. Our students mainly use NYC public transport or school buses depending on whether they qualify for the latter due to proximity to the school.
Q4. What special education services do you provide?
Ans. The provision of special education services is offered using an integrated co-teaching program as well as IEP for each individual student.
Q5. Meals served, and types of enrichment activities?
Ans. NYC Public School meals are served comprising of breakfast and lunch and enrichment activities include arts integration and STEM fundamentals among others.
