As part of Earth Day 2026, the High School for Environmental Studies in New York City partnered with more than 20 groups including the Billion Oyster Project and NYC Parks to get students into the field for hands-on conservation work around the city. This year’s justice-focused curriculum is bringing in the school’s first student-run thrift shop to highlight sustainable fashion practices. Additionally, the school will also continue to offer extensive AP coursework and specialized electives such as hydroponics and food systems for the 2025-2026 school year.
