The recent media coverage about Earth School in Manhattan is indicative of the increasing focus on the issue of sustainability and climate education at all levels in NYC’s public schools. The school’s staff and parents have been engaged indirectly in citywide initiatives aimed at promoting climate education through the organization of teacher training programs and development of curricula that were launched at the beginning of 2026.
