Being Updated
Students from the Ps 22 Thomas Jefferson school successfully advocated for safer streets around their campus, working with local officials. Their efforts resulted in the installation of a new traffic signal near the school, improving pedestrian safety for students and families. This is a strong example of student civic engagement translating into real-world impact—a highly positive development beyond academics. Average attendance is around 95%, well above the city average.
